N.AH.A. Pre-Ride Check List

·       Please, print out and bring completed membership form with you.  This helps morning sign ups go faster for you and easier for our volunteers.

·       Halters and lead ropes should be in good working condition.  Check your equipment, tie horses with appropriate knots.   Loose horses are a danger for everyone.  Do not tie horses by their bits!

·       It’s been a long cold winter; look for cracked leather, and ill fitting tack.

·       Please!  Tie a large, bright; red ribbon to horse’s tails that may kick.  Be considerate of surrounding horses and pedestrians.  Inform child riders to park, horses that kick, a safe distance from others.

·       Boots or riding shoes with a heel are required.  Be sure your child’s stirrups are properly adjusted before they ride.

·       Helmets are strongly recommended for children, ONLY A PROPERLY FITTING HELMET WILL PROTECT YOUR CHILDS HEAD.

·       Excessively harsh handling of horses will not be tolerated.  Demonstrate fair horsemanship, and good sportsmanship, for the child members of N.A.H.A.

·       Park your trailer a comfortable distance from other trailers.  Folks need room for tied horses and camp chairs.

·      A safe ride is a fun ride!

See you Saturday!  Marissa Luna
