Listed below we have highlighted some changes to be incorporated into this years' events. Please review the changes, if you have any questions or need clarification, please contact your Board Members.
The 2012 NAHA Membership form is attached. Please complete the form and return before March 31st and be entered into a drawing. (see below)
CHANGE IN GYMKHANA RULE 29 –
To be eligible for year-end prizes, every rider 14 and over must help a minimum of 4 times during the season and riders 13 and under must have an individual 14 or over help a minimum of 4 times during the season. Sign-up will be made before the Gymkhana starts in the riders name. This rule will be enforced.
Rule 26 – The number of events to be ridden to qualify for year-end awards was changed from 16 to 14
Number of Events – The number of events at Gymkhanas as been changed from 4 to 3 with the last event being a jackpot.
Change in Event fees: The cost of each event for 7 and under will be $2 and the event fee 8 and over will be $3.
Rule on number of placings - The policy has never been rewritten on the number of places for awarding prizes. The policy states to award prizes first thru fifth places. This will be adhered to this year.
General Meetings and location – In 2011 the general membership meetings were very sparsely attended. In fact at one or two meetings, no one but board members attended. It was therefore decided to set “special general membership meetings” for 2012 on the 4th Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm at Silver Saddle Café (NE corner Hwy 89 and Silver Saddle Rd), with the board meeting to follow as soon as the general membership meeting is adjourned. The change in location was necessary as Summit Fire and Cromer School are charging for meeting space.
Membership Incentive – All renewing members who renew by March 31, 2012 will be entered into a drawing with the winner riding the first gymkhana free. Be sure to get your renewal post marked before or on March 31 and you might be the winner!
We are Northern Arizona’s largest and oldest horseman’s club. In1957 N.A.H.A. was born of two Flagstaff 4-H groups who traded in their rivalry to form a truly family oriented equine club. Having strong 4-H roots, we still strive to demonstrate good horsemanship skills and friendly competition. Riders of all ages come from near and far, to ride in Arizona’s cool pines.
Gymkhanas are fun mounted games where partnership between horse and rider can really shine. Members young and old compete against the clock on patterns that are guaranteed fun for all! Cool ribbons and great year end awards will keep you and your equine smiling. So come play with old friends and make some new ones too!
